4-Day Sunrise Highlights - Mt. Fuji, Hakone, Kyoto & Nara Tour (Round Trip from Tokyo)

Day 1: Mt. Fuji + Lake Ashi Cruise + Mt. Komagatake Ropeway
Mt. Fuji 5th Station The bus will head up to the 5th Station along the Subaru Line. The 5th Station is situated at 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) above sea level. At this height, you will be amazed at spectacular, breathtaking views from above the clouds. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if Mt. Fuji is not fully visible due to weather conditions. Enjoy lunch. Lake Ashi Cruise Go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. This crater lake along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mt. Hakone was formed by a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago, and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji towering 30 km northwest. Mt. Komagatake Ropeway Spend a total of 50 minutes including a 7-minute cableway ride up to the peak from Hakone-en. Take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop.

Day 2: Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple + Kasuga Taisha Shrine + Nara Nagomikan
Depart from Hotel in Hakone Area Go to Odawara Station by taxi or bus. A staff member will pick up participants and accompany them to and from the hotel in Hakone and Odawara/Kyoto Station, but will not ride along on the Shinkansen. Odawara Station From Odawara Station to Shin-Yokohama Station Take a non-reserved Kodama or Hikari Shinkansen. Note that seating is not guaranteed if the train is crowded. From Shin-Yokohama Station to Kyoto Station Take a Nozomi Shinkansen to Kyoto. Enjoy lunch at a hotel. New Miyako Hotel This tour follows the same itinerary as the Nara Afternoon Tour. From Kyoto to Nara Head to Nara via Nara Keinawa Expressway Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) A World Heritage site. This is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world's largest wooden structures. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold. Kasuga Taisha Shrine This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers. The tour will not enter areas requiring admission. Nara Nagomikan The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir. This facility may be omitted from the itinerary if it is closed on the day of the tour, or as a result of traffic congestion.

Day 3: Nijo Castle + Kinkaku-ji Temple + Kyoto Imperial Palace + Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Depart from Hotel in Kyoto City Pick-up service is available at hotels in Kyoto city. Nijo Castle A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace. Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December (Closed on the following day if Tuesday is a holiday.) If closed, or if the tour is during the year-end/New Year's holidays, Ryoan-ji Temple will be visited instead. Kinkaku-ji Temple A World Heritage site. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful pond. Kyoto Imperial Palace See the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which was used as the Emperor's residence until about 150 years ago. this tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. It is famous for housing the God of scholarship. This shrine's main hall is a designated national treasure. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons. Lunch (Japanese/Western style buffet lunch) Heian Jingu Shrine Don't miss the characteristic red architecture of this beautiful shrine built to celebrate the 1100 year anniversary of the founding of the city of Kyoto. This tour will not enter Heian Jingu Shrine's Shin-en garden. During the Jidai Festival on October 22, Heian Jingu Shrine is closed to the public and will be replaced in the itinerary by Chishaku-in Temple. If the Jidai Festival is postponed, we will follow suit with the itinerary change. Sanjusangen-do Temple Visit the world's longest wooden structure, housing 1,001 life-size statues of Buddhist Kannon deities dating back to the 13th century. Kiyomizu-dera Temple The view of Kyoto from the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera is superb. The historic shopping lane that leads to the temple adds to a wonderful experience.

Day 4: Free time from check-out until departure
