Hobart is the picturesque capital city of Tasmania, situated on a natural deep water harbour surrounded by mountains. It is steeped in it's convict history because, it was originally settled as a penal colony in a nearby settlement, Port Arthur. If you are keen in history, you will cherish and enjoy Hobart. The Tasman Peninsula, a 2 hours' drive from Hobart, is home to a rugged coastline and many spectacular geographic features.
If you go further you will come to the historic settlement of Port Arthur, many of the ruins are in tact and you can walk around them at leisure and get a impressive vibe as to how convict life was in the colonies. Day 1 : ARRIVE HOBART DOMESTIC AIRPORT
Upon arrival at Hobart Domestic Airport, meet and greet by our representative before transfers to hotel. After check in, free at own leisure for the rest of the day.Day 2 : HOBART (B)
After breakfast, embark on a journey into the prosperous heart of picturesque famous Port Arthur historic site, a compelling and dramatic reminder of Australia’s convict past and the early settlement of the Colony of Van Dieman's Land, now Tasmania. We cross over the Tasman Bridge, the gracious long-span bridge across the Derwent River estuary opened on August 17, 1964. Being the only direct connection between the city centre and Hobart Airport, a drive across the bridge enables you to glance up the beautiful river and down towards the sea.Then we head out on the Tasman Highway over the Pitwater Causeway onto Forestier Peninsula, before being treated with a most magnificent ocean & coastal views from Pirates Bay Lookout before heading to Eaglehawk Neck and a short walk on beautiful Egg Beach, learning about the famous convict DOGLINE. Take a guided walking tour of the historic convict site - Port Arthur, with access to over 30 restored buildings and ruins.
See the Penitentiary, a one-time granary and flour mill, the separate prison, the Commandant's House, the church and more. You will also visit the fantastic natural attractions of Tasman Arch & Devils Kitchen. Even a stroll of just an hour or two will bring you to the edge of sheer drops overlooking chasms and surging ocean, off-shore islands, white-sand beaches, and a waterfall that tumbles into the sea. Visit highlights of Tasman National Park. The stars of the 8,312-hectare Tasman National Park are the sea caves, geos, stacks, arches, collapse features and 300-metre high cliffs created by 6,000 years of wave action on the peninsula's sandstone, dolerite and granite.
In the scrub and forest beside the trails, wallabies and pademelons feed at dusk and dawn. Sea eagles soar overhead during the day, and at night Tasmanian devils scavenge and bicker. After the historical walk you will be transfered to Canarvon Bay for a cruise and guided tour of the Isle of the Dead, plus a tour of the former boys prison at Point Puer.
Day 3 : HOBART (B)
After breakfast, discover the charms of the city of Hobart, one of the most beautiful cities in Australia. A city of yachts and spinnakers; gardens and galleries; sandstone cottages and stately Georgian Homes - a city built on the pain and toil of yesteryear English convicts. The perfect introduction to Hobart's best sites - this is the ultimate city tour that will leave you enchanted with Hobart, and then some more.Marvel at the amazing beautiful sights that are Sullivan’s Cover (Hobart’s birthplace and ferry terminal), Parliament House, Salamance House (Georgian style warehouses now restored as restaurants, galleries and pubs), Princes Park (a one-time gun battery), Battery Point (charming historic houses, pubs, boutique shops and restaurants), St. George’s Church, views of Wrest Point Casino and exclusive Sandy Bay, St. David’s Park, Anglesea Barracks, South Hobart at the foot of Mt Wellington, Cascade Brewery.

Day 4 : HOBART (B)
